 DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
I want to make it possible for everyone to afford a great piece of original art, and I am committed to offering beautiful things that bring meaning and joy to living.
Exhibitions are held quarterly at the ArtScapE studio gallery, representing my work and other talented members of the Pasadena Society Of Artists. Our artworks are made to thrill you; with craft, expression, slices of insight, and a sheer sense of beauty.
The gallery will display a discriminating selection of fine American Art to include; paintings, sculpture, photographs, assemblage, fiber-art, note cards, greeting cards and lithographs at any given time. Select pieces will represent different artistic disciplines such as watercolor, oil, acrylic and others, with a broad range of prices.
Visitors are welcome to enter our monthly Free Art Contest with the opportunity to win a limited edition lithograph, poster, or original painting.
Since limited wall space prevents showing the entire collection at one time, please visit smollin.com to view all available inventory, new works, and to stay abreast of the latest exhibition.
Art consulting services are available to enhance commercial and residential spaces. We also assist interior designers looking to generate visual excitement in their interior and exterior projects. Commissions are accepted for originals and upscale reproductions, with portfolios of over fifty artists to choose from. Please inquire by telephone or email about your specific requirements.
Commercial reproduction rights are also available for all of the pieces in the collection. Please contact us for a quote and include a complete description of the intended use.
Art appreciation is a very personal ‘thing’ because we evolve from different experiences and cultural backgrounds, so the gallery strives to provide enduring work that resonates with the human spirit. After all, art is a form of expression that others can relate to, which transcends the high-art-market and the opinions of experts. ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Mark Smollin is an American painter who spent his childhood in Westport Connecticut where he was inspired by creative parents, famous local artists, and an exceptional high school art teacher who revealed the creative consciousness behind artwork. Following his initial interest in graphics, three years of experimental portrait painting were conducted in a hall closet after work to build his portfolio for college. It was only big enough to place a card table inside, so self-imposed assignments were performed sitting or standing in the hallway. The artist now makes his home in Pasadena California where he graduated from Art Center College of Design. His paintings have been reproduced in national publications, supporting the advertising industry, book publishers, motion picture studios, actors and musical talents. He is the recipient of awards from the Society Of Illustrators New York, the Society Of Illustrators Los Angles and the California Art Club among others. Now that the ArtScapE Gallery is a dream realized, Mark is focused on the opportunity to represent fine creative talents from the Pasadena Society Of Artists and across the nation, while developing his series of skyscapes.
