North Block Island Lighthouse, Rhode Island

Resembling a church or schoolhouse, the present North Block Island Light was built in 1867 and served for more than a century before it was deactivated and replaced in 1970 by an automated offshore beacon. The lighthouse now serves as a redoubt for seagulls.
